Correre una maratona di Bhutan, piccolo paese situato tra Cina e India, è un'idea troppo seducente per non lasciarsi tentare.
Ovunque Running ti invita in Bhutan, per scoprire un luogo incantevole, sospeso nel tempo, lontando dal mondo.
Il pretesto è correre la sua Maratona Internazionale: 200 partecipanti, provenienti da oltre 20 stati si affronteranno sulle due diverse distanze, la maratona e la mezza maratona.
Partenza alle 7.30 per la mezza e alle 8 per la maratona su un altipiano che si aggira sui 1.700 metri sul livello del mare, attraversando luoghi magici senza l'affanno del cronometro e del tempo di gara.
Al termine delle gare si riceverà, al posto della medaglia, la tradizionale sciarpa bianca simbolo di bevenuto e felicitazioni. La giornata di gara proseguirà con canti e balli tradizionali e una cena conviviale.
Il Bhutan è un luogo straordinario, rimasto quasi completamente immune al passare del tempo.
Situato al centro dell'imponente catena montuosa dell'Himalaya, è vissuto per secoli in una sorta di isolamento volontario, lontano dal resto del mondo. Da quando le sue porte sono state aperte, con diffidenza, nel 1974, i visitatori ne sono rimasti ammaliati: l'ambiente è incontaminato, il paesaggio e l'architettura sono maestosi, la gente è ospitale e affascinante e la cultura è unica nella sua purezza. Con un piede nel passato e un altro nel futuro, si avvia con fiducia verso la modernizzazione, intesa dal suo punto di vista, proteggendo fieramente la sua antica cultura, le sue risorse naturali e il suo stile di vita profondamente buddhista.

The marathon route is mostly rural and approximately 50% on hard pack dirt and 50% on pavement.
The marathon will start at 8:00 AM. The elevation at the start line is 6700 feet. We recommend you wear warm clothing over your running clothing and bring any other personal items you might need. These will be transported for you back to the finish line. Do not bring any valuables to the start line.

Half Marathon: Monday, February 23, 2015, 7:30 AM
The half marathon route is mostly rural and approximately 40% on hard pack dirt and 60% on pavement.
The half marathon will start at 7:30 AM. The elevation at the start line is approximately 4311 feet. We recommend you wear warm clothing over your running clothing and bring any other personal items you might need. These will be transported for you back to the finish line. Do not bring any valuables to the start line.
